Cian McLoughlin
Cian McLoughlin is a Dublin-based artist whose creative journey began with studies in architecture and film at University College Dublin. His passion for visual storytelling eventually led him to the National College of Art and Design (NCAD), where he pursued his passion in painting.
One of Cian’s standout works is a humorous portrait of his father, displayed just inside the entrance of our Dylan Bar. The painting captures a moment of playful tension where his father, dressed in an outfit chosen by Cian, wears a distinctly unimpressed expression. It is a charming and witty piece that reflects both familial bonds and the artist’s light-hearted approach to portrait artwork.
Now, Cian McLoughlin currently holds several prestigious roles in the Irish art and academic community, including a 2024 artist residency at TCIN, a teaching position at NCAD, and a studio tutor role at the RHA School.
Kari Cahill
In our bar, situated just above the fireplace is Kari’s beautifully named Búir na h-abhainn which means River Roar in Irish. This painting reflects her signature approach, using natural pigments and materials gathered from specific locations to create textured artworks that evoke the energy and spirit of the land.
Her practice has earned major recognition, including the Arts Council of Ireland’s Project Award (2021) and Visual Arts Bursary (2020).
Whether you are enjoying an afternoon tea, a late lunch or an evening cocktail, why not immerse yourself into the captivating artwork Dylan Bar has to offer.
