Music and Entertainment

Every year the Horse Show provides the finest in music and entertainment to its patrons

‘Tropical Storm’
The crowd pleasing Tropical Storm returned to the bandstand last year to brighten the spirits of all visitors to the Show! Since their arrival in Ireland in 2005, Tropical storm have brought the unique serenading style from the Indian Ocean and Caribbean to Ireland. A huge hit with a wide range of audiences this year they hope to bring out the biggest crowd over to enjoy their easy listening, highly entertaining covers of all the classics from five generations (now with some Irish ballads added too!)

‘Manila Strings’
Band members Des, Edward & Rod combine previous experience from a number of acts very popular in Thailand to form Manila Strings. They have established their own following throughout Ireland with their rhythmic style of hits everyone loves. The percussion gives a big act dimension to their performance on the band stand while providing the more intimate sound of a traditional serenade

‘4 in a Bar’
This award winning Barbershop Quartet – IABS National Champions for the last 2 years - performed some old traditional Barbershop classics mixed with modern chart hits. They performed at various locations at the Show on Thursday and Friday.

‘The Untouchables’
A lively four piece band playing many classic favourites at the Band Lawn each day of the Show. Sit back and listen to all your favourites as the band gets the crowd into a party atmosphere! Back again by popular demand.

The Garda Band

Always a welcome addition to the festivities at the Discover Ireland Dublin Horse Show. The Garda Band performs at many national events and other major venues and we were delighted to have them perform their big band sound here to add to the ceremonial atmosphere on Nations Cup Day.

Swiss Alphorns

We were privileged and delighted to welcome the Alphorn Academy of Switzerland for a unique visit to the Discover Ireland Dublin Horse Show. This group of Swiss musicians comprises 33 performers who played folk and traditional pieces and a classic item from their repertoire. The unique style of their music added contrast to the entertainment at the Show.

Kids’ Entertainment

There’s more to the Discover Ireland Dublin Horse Show than meets the eye, in fact, all the senses are engaged and entertained in this five day pageant of colour, music and delight that will dazzle children of all ages
